Americans With Disabilities Act Enforcement
All existing or proposed sidewalks (including those crossing driveways), curbing and handicapped ramps must be constructed and/or reconstructed to meet the current requirements of the ADA. Pursuant to NJ Rev Stat 27:16-8 (2021), the County of Bergen maintains roadways between curb lines or edges of pavement. The county nevertheless retains its jurisdictional authority to enforce the ADA requirements.
