The Bergen County Zoo is now accepting applications for its 2024 Adult Docent program. Applications are due February 9, 2024.
Back for its 8th season, Winter Wonderland attracts over 30,000 visitors each year and promotes year-round access to the Bergen County Parks System with outdoor ice skating, games, a beer and wine garden, ice bumper cars, and, new to this year, weekly Bergen County-based live entertainment. From the giant 30-foot centerpiece Christmas Tree to the festive decorations throughout, Winter Wonderland has become a cherished holiday tradition, bringing together our 70 communities here in Bergen County.
The Bergen County Office of Food Security is partnering with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to distribute 90,000 pounds of fresh produce to 45 food pantries in Bergen County. Produce boxes will include staples such as potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, apples and plums, and will be vital supplements to the already depleted food pantries leading up to the holiday.
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, the County Parks Department, and the County’s Division of Veteran Services announce that all Bergen County Veterans and active-duty service members can enjoy a free round of golf at any of the County’s six golf courses from Friday, November 10th through Thursday, November 16th.
Starting on Friday, November 24 at 4 p.m., Bergen County’s Winter Wonderland presented by Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, is set to make its triumphant return to Van Saun County Park with open air ice skating, ice bumper cars, a heated hospitality tent, games, activities, food trucks, an indoor/outdoor beer and wine garden, live holiday music, and rides on the iconic carousel. From the giant 30-foot centerpiece Christmas Tree to the festive decorations throughout, families will have the chance to be transported to a winter paradise this holiday season right here in Bergen County.
Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Bergen County Board of Commissioners, and the Bergen County Parks Department announce the renovation completion and grand opening of new sports courts at Samuel Nelkin County Park in Wallington. Over the past two months the County Parks Department worked to resurface two tennis courts and a full-size basketball court, while also adding three pickleball courts to the park. All three recreational amenities feature lights to allow for extended play past dusk.
PARK RIDGE, NJ – On Wednesday, October 25th, County Executive Jim Tedesco joined County Commissioner Vice Chairwoman Germaine Ortiz, County Commissioner Mary Amoroso, Park Ridge Mayor Keith Misciagna, and representatives from the County Parks Department to celebrate the completion of a major renovation project at the Wortendyke Barn in Park Ridge, a Nationally Registered Historic Place and County Historic Site that pre-dates the founding of our nation.

The Office will promote awareness, education, and training to effect systemic change that guarantees safe and equitable services, and by creating inclusive and supportive environments for all LGBTQ+ residents.
