Traffic Engineer Department of Planning & Engineering, Engineering Division Count of Bergen, New Jersey
The Bergen County Department of Planning and Engineering is seeking a licensed professional civil engineer, with at least 5 years of traffic engineering experience. Must be responsible and self-motivated with strong communication and computer skills, including a proficiency in AutoCAD.
Shall be capable of designing traffic signals, signal timings, signing and striping plans, review consultant construction plans, prepare bid documents, and administer intersection improvement construction contracts. Perform reviews of traffic related improvements for site plan and subdivision applications, and address traffic related inquiries from municipal officials.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer’s License.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 5+ years of experience in Traffic Engineering.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and technical writing skills.
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office experience.
- Traffic analysis software experience including HCS, Synchro.
- Adaptive Signal software experience a plus.
- Experience in review of construction plans including grading, cross-sections, profiles, drainage, etc.
- Experience in preparing technical specifications and bid documents.
